Agro-Pastoral Charity Organization (APCO) was established in December 1998 just after the collapse of the Somali central government; it is one of the most successful and consistent community-based, non-profit, humanitarian and development NGO and APCO was registered as a community-based organization (CBO) in Somalia.
APCO operates in Galmudug, Southwest, Hirshabele and Banadir and Somalia at large and is involved in relief aid, rehabilitation and development programs in various sectors: Education, Health & Nutrition, Rural Development, Agriculture and livelihood and Governance (Peace, Human Rights, Gender Development, and Democracy and Psychosocial issues).
However, Agro-Pastoral Charity Organization (APCO) particularly targets the most vulnerable members of society mainly women and children, it focuses on issues of WASH, Health, Livelihood, Education, Skill Development, as well as other human rights issues such as Protection, HIV/AIDs, Gender with special focus on women and youth empowerment through civic education, skill development, intensive employment and income generation activities (IGA). Therefore, to achieve its intended interventions, APCO works directly with beneficiary communities at large to identify their needs and found appropriate solutions. In conclusion, APCO has extensive working experience, technical expertise, collaboration and credibility with beneficiary communities. It constantly promotes community participation in project planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation in order to improve the accountability, transparency and sustainability of its interventions.

•To equip Somalis with practical knowledge and skills critical for income generation and participation in the development of Somalia
•To build capacity for human rights advocacy among Somalis and promote the human rights of all including women, children and minority groups
•To empower the youth away from war, conflict and poverty
•To address and redress the issue of sexual and gender-based violence, illiteracy and discrimination of the minorities in Somalia.
